Comprised of carefully selected pieces from the repertoire of music for 2 string instruments, the album is a journey through time that speaks of human nature, of the interplay between light and darkness and of an uninhibited, unending search for beauty.

The Gaia Duo is Flora Curzon on violin (Fran & Flora, Sam Lee, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment) and Piotr Jordan on violin and viola (Dunajska Kapelye, Warsaw National Opera, London Schubert Players). Formed in 2014, they have a shared passion for both classical and traditional music, and for curating atmospheric concerts that bridge the two worlds. They have performed together in venues across the UK.

“Meditations & Laments” was produced and recorded by Gvirtzman at Heath Street Baptist Church in the summer of 2016 and mixed and mastered by Alex Bonney. It will be released on F-IRE Label in December 2019, with a launch, in the tradition of the Gaia Duo’s meditation concerts, on Thursday, December 12th, 7.30- 10.30pm at Heath Street Baptist Church, NW3 1DN.
